Job Description:

The VP of Compliance Effective Challenge will conduct independent review and effective challenge of workplans, executed corrective actions and artifacts demonstrating business closure and compliance with laws, rules and regulations and operational effectiveness, provide thematic analysis, assessment of independent third-party reviews and of business completion in addressing the third-party recommendations. The VP will communicate the assessments to executive stakeholders, the Board Directors and senior management, and will manage effective challenges, Action Plan Change Control, and Business Closure recommendations and communication routines within tight. Creates a culture of effective risk management, accountability, and demonstration of risk awareness across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform independent content rich effective challenge of action plans, milestones and associated resourcing relative to target state outcomes, sustainability, and regulatory expectations.

  • Lead and facilitate change control and challenge meetings with senior and executive leaders.

  • Communicate recommendations and findings to executive management, senior stakeholders, and Board Directors, and have the gravitas to maintain independence and clarity of recommendations in the face of counter pressure.

  • Leverage Project Management and Program Management routines and provide feedback loop to refinement of plans.

  • Provide advise based on significant compliance expertise and remediation experience to business and control unite to enhance operating effectiveness and sustainability

  • Conduct analysis of themes across regulatory actions (e.g., root causes, crosscutting focuses).

  • Assess and disposition independent 3rd party findings and recommendations and quality of incorporation into action plans.

  • Develop and manage content of Challenge, Action Plan Change Control, and Business Closure process, including required sign-offs and hand-off to Internal Audit.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management, or Continuous Improvement

  • 10+ years of Financial Services industry experience in the areas of financial analysis, banking policies and regulations, compliance remediation, consumer compliance and risk management or related

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration and Management

  • Financial Analysts, Change in Control Management

In Lieu of Education:

  • 15+ years of Financial Services industry experience in the areas of demonstrated expertise in effective challenge, broad understanding of relevant banking policy, regulation, and supervisory expectations, compliance remediation, consumer compliance and risk management or related.
